Resource for Evaluating Bible Translations

Perhaps the best way to evaluate a Bible translation is through actual use. You do it in your personal devotions. Now see how the translation sounds and feels in public reading. We have obtained permission from the publishers of the English Standard Version (ESV^®) and the Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB^®) to offer Scripture Lesson Bulletin Inserts for use in your Sunday worship services. (We are still negotiating with the publishers of the NIV).

The inserts are provided in MS Word format which you can edit and print out for use in your congregation. Use them as a standard bulletin insert or copy the text into your service folder. The inserts use the new readings from the Supplemental Lectionary.

Most of the Scripture Lessons are formatted to fit a half-page 8 ½ x 11 inch insert. Some readings are too long to fit on a ½ page. In such cases, we give you the opportunity to make the final edit or formatting decision. Since it is in Word format, you can vary the font and spacing to meet your own needs.
